  • Key Objectives *: To address food safety and nutrition challenges in Ghana and SSA in particular and other parts of the globe through:• Capacity development for all actors along the food value chain;• Public education and awareness creation using modern and effective communication tools;• Evidence-based advocacy for increased investments in food safety and nutrition research, nutrient-dense food production, food processing and distribution;• Women and youth empowerment (e.g. training in food processing and preservation and quality management, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, healthy dietary and childcare practices); • Food safety and hygiene-related infrastructural development (provision of handwashing facilities, potable water such as boreholes, places of convenience, simple and basic food processing equipment such as dryers); • Research to generate evidence to influence policy and practice.

  • Major or Current Achievements *: 1. Conducted integrated food safety and nutrition education in 35 communities in Amansie West and Asunafo North Districts. This was funded by Cadbury Cocoa Partnership Programme and Care International; 2. Developed food safety risk communication handbook for practitioners and other stakeholders. This was funded by WHO and FAO; 3. Have conducted numerous food safety training for consumers, food vendors, farmers, policy makers etc.; 4. Have developed a website for sharing relevant food safety and nutrition information
