More Information

  • Major or Current Achievements *: TEERE began in September 2014 with a staff capacity of two(2). This number has improved significantly over the years to over eleven(11) staff members. TEERE Local Government Forum(TLGF), the flagship project of TEERE has enlightened citizens and social groups on their roles of participating in local governance and to ensure that duty bearers are accountable to them. The disadvantaged social groups such as women, youth and the physically challenged participated fully and had the opportunity to express their concerns which hitherto did not exist. TEERE followed up on some of the issues and is currently working with its partners to fix the children’s ward at the Bongo hospital which was a serious/major concern to citizens at the forum. TEERE with funding from STAR-Ghana implemented the "Mini-Max campaign 2016". Through this campaign, two females and one male living with disabilities were selected, trained and used by EC as temporal officials in election 2016. Even though, there was a nationwide voter apathy, the areas of our voter education campaign saw an increase in registered voters and voter turnout. The impact of the VSLA project has also been tremendous, over 5000 women have had access to loans made available by VSLAs to members. There have been investments into sources of livelihood which have adjusted standards of living upwards. With an ambitious group of people, TEERE is committed to the betterment of the lives of the citizenry with an ultimate goal for them to take charge of their own affairs.
