  • Major or Current Achievements *: NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDE: • First NGO in the south that have successfully designed and use Community Directed Intervention in preventing malaria in pregnancy. (Adopted by World bank and replicated in 7 States) ACTIVITIES WITH THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR REFUGEES, MIGRANTS AND INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS (NCFRMI)  CPD worked as a member of the Sub-Technical Working Group on Review of the National Migration Policy which was published in 2016.  As a Civil Society Organization representing Akwa Ibom State in NCFRMI, we attended the 2016 National Migration Dialogue with the theme: “Policy Coherence in Migration Governance: Managing Migration and Displacement – the Way Forward” (20th – 21st December, 2016). 1. REDUCING BY 30% THE INCIDENCE OF HIV/AIDS AMONG IN-SCHOOL AND OUT OF SCHOOL GIRLS (MARCH, 2017) AND FUNDED BY EXXON MOBIL. The purpose of the project was to effectively promote public awareness on the scourge of HIV/AIDS; reducing by 30% the incidence of HIV/AIDS among in-school and out of school girls. The project outcome were as follows:  30% reduction in the number of girls living with HIV  50% reduction in the number of child marriages/pregnancies  Provision of linkages to HIV patients and HIV /Help Centers.  Reduced incidence of abandonment, stigmatization and social isolation by developing coping strategies of HIV affected girls.
