  • Key Objectives *: • To provide needs assessments and evidence-based analysis on human rights, security and governance issues to highlight gaps for effective interventions. • To conduct in-depth participatory grassroots research and data mapping in communities to understand their challenges and perspectives on ongoing conflict situations across Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin. • To serve as agent for rights advocacy and a resource center for access to victims of violence and abuse in conflict context. • To work with humanitarian, development and peace actors as well as community structures and local civil society groups to develop peace building and accountability initiatives to complement government efforts. • To build sustainable social and community engagement practices that reduce youth vulnerability, radicalism, while advocating for women empowerment and rights of minority.

  • Major or Current Achievements *: • Identified over 200 Cases of Human Right Abuses in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe State and reported the appropriate agencies, including the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights. • Mobilized pro-bono legal services for victims of human rights abuses in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe • Coordinated the formation of Network of Sexual Survivors in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe and organized elections for leadership of the network • Organized several trainings and sensitization programmes on foster parenting to enlighten parents and caregivers on the direct and indirect physical, emotional, behavioral, social and development costs of child abuse • Conducted and published research on challenges of people living with disabilities in Northeast Nigeria • Participated in the research titled: “G7 Lake Chad Risk Assessment Project on Fragility of Climate Change.” Coordinated by Adelphi - Research Institute / Germany.
