ZAK Touching Lives Foundation: Empowering the Future Generation to Rise from Poverty
ZAK Touching Lives Foundation is a community-based organsation located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The organisation believes in empowering the future generations of our society to emerge from poverty through their own efforts by providing access to quality and relevant educational opportunities, coupled with the necessary educational resources to assist communities in producing and celebrating responsible and productive citizens. Their mission is to strengthen the social, emotional, and economic competencies of disadvantaged youth and vulnerable aged by providing them with a sense of self-worth and opportunities to experience a full range of life options through an inspirational program, self-empowerment and hope. In the month of January, the organisation has extensively contributed to a number of key activities that seeks to provide service delivery and respond to societal challenges. Among these activities include a sanitation exercise and health screening held at Akyem Afosu, in Birim North District.
The exercise was done in collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana, the Ghana Health Service, and Akyem Afosu Traditional Authorities as part of their social responsibility programme to contribute towards the reduction of sanitation-related diseases. Subsequently, ZAK also organised a day seminar on parenting for parents in the western communities at Adausena to inculcate in them the habit of caring for their wards in order to put them in better positions in the future. According to them empowering the future generation to rise from poverty through self-reliance remains their priority.
The West Africa Civil Society Institute applauds the efforts of ZAK Foundation for being the most active organisation sharing their impact stories on our West Africa CSOs E-directory platform in the month of January.
