Plus d'information

  • Exploits actuels ou majeurs : 1. Mobilization of member organisation and putting strategic plans and working documents in place to guide the operations of the organisation and others. In this regard many of the member organisations were raised from idea level to functional CBOs and NGOs. 2. CSIF organised the first ever debate forum on the relevance of NGOs in Northern Ghana in February 2014 with funding from STAR-GHANA (multi-donor agency in Ghana), RAINS, and YEfL (both local NGOs and members of CSIF). This was the first of its kind in northern Ghana where the academia, industry players and other stakeholders came together to do an introspection of the role and legitimacy of NGOs in the area. It was a huge success with a simple and overwhelming verdict that CSOs play an essential role in development but need to be innovatively adaptive to the changing trends to continue to remain relevant. One of the outcomes of the forum was the formation of a working committee for more of such introspective and coordinated debate forums in Northern Ghana which is now an annual event spearheaded by CSIF. 3. Advisory Services/Training and counselling for nascent member organisations once every quarter of the year since 2013. Trainings in organisational development, proposal writing, branding through social media etc. The result of the trainings so far has increased participating organisations ability to understand the prospects and challenges affecting NGO management. We have provided space and facilities as a hub for 5 nascent member organisations to grow within their first few years of incorporation 4. CSIF entered into partnership with a Danish NGO called AfriCAN, in 2015. The partners have jointly implemented the EduAfrica Project (a tertiary education scholarship and development project) supporting needy but brilliant students from three deprived districts (Tolon, Kumbungu and Savelugu/Nanton). It is also important to mention that the partnership with AfriCAN and the activities have yielded results with a grant from CISU to implement a two year pilot project, Student Union Empowerment (SUE) with student union (NUGS/SRC) leaders at the University for Development Studies (UDS).
